20-some years ago my friend, who was born in Hong Kong, went back for the handover celebrations. The biggest DJs spinning for the largest parties in the world, enormous fireworks, everyone celebrating. It's hard to believe now that that was the reaction to the handover of Hong Kong to the communists.
