I dunno - I also found the article to be really heavy on platitudes and light on real advice. It basically boiled down to one mistake - "I took it personally and started wallowing in self-pity" - and one piece of advice - "Get over it." And ironically, her advice almost makes it seem like she hasn't taken her own advice, because the article is all about her. I was kinda hoping for some mistakes she made running the business and what she's learned from them.
Do you have any idea how many people are "wallowing in self-pity" and do need to "get over it"?
Why should she write about the Pets business failure? It's on her site SmartNow, which in the bio says: "She founded SmartNow.com last year to help women help themselves." I don't think people coming to the site care about sustainable revenues, cost structures, brand management, etc. But seeing a successful woman take a hard knock and pull herself together better than ever might be interesting.
