I'm more concerned by the explicit racism of the finger clamp blood oxy/flow meters not working on African Americans and the consequences for failing to detect decreasing oxygenation.

But yea, pantomime is large in covid


Did anyone think those thermometers were more than "security theater"?

The one contactless thermometer I know of with approval for hospital use requires wiping the skin and aiming two separate beams until they line up for getting the distance correct.

People are using rebranded thermometers that are usually used to tell you what's hot and what's really really hot... think burn your skin off hot
