Squad is a NYC-based tech startup with the plan of disrupting the social space. We are backed by the who's who of Silicon Valley including the founders of Slack, Away, Zillow and Stitch Fix--and are publicly launching a "close knit social app." Instead of getting social media feeds filled with posts from strangers you’ve never laughed in the same room with, Squad is a digital platform for you to be seen and heard--helping you go deep and be consistent with the closest people of your crew.
We are looking for a quality-obsessed software developer with a passion for user experience and a ideally a background in mobile application development (React Native, Firebase). This person will be the first non-founding engineer, work directly with the CTO on mission-critical projects, and have input on architecture and technology choices from the get-go. Ideally, this person will have 3-6 years of solid software development experience.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with a tight-knit team to identify requirements and specifications
- Build full-stack solutions from data, to application logic, to server-side triggers and more
- Product readable, maintainable, well-tested code that hit a high experiential bar
- Independently design, develop, test, and deploy features and fixes continuously.
- Troubleshooting, diagnosing, debugging, maintaining, and improving the software.
- Get feedback directly from end-users, come up with solutions to key friction points
- Instrument, monitor, and continuously improve application performance
- Ensure key application metrics are properly tracked and calculated
- Create prototypes, perform research to find efficient, reliable solutions to problems.
