Interviewing in tech is often pretty broken, especially when it comes to whiteboard-style CS interviews.
With that being said, the largest and most esteemed tech companies such as Google, Facebook, Amazon, Microsoft, etc. all still employ very similar technical interview loops that tend to greatly favor candidates with standard computer science backgrounds over candidates who are either self-taught or who prefer to focus on software engineering over the “science” aspect of computer science.
So here are my favorite tips for gaming this outdated system and kicking ass at whiteboard interviews.
