Jeff Bezos is the CEO of Amazon and controls the majority of its voting shares, so they're entangled enough that the actions of one can show the hypocrisy of the other.

You might as well just say that since the Civil War is so well known and understood, there's no point teaching about it in school. Not everyone actually knows the things you think are so basic to warrant no mention, and there is value in reporting the specific instances that back up a generalization.
