why do you say it doesn't work? It does work... is just that Mono is mostly used in Linux and OSX.

Anything I have tried to use Mono for has not worked. Maybe there is a subset of of .net stuff for which Mono works perfectly, but I do not think we should say that .Net or Silverlight are cross platform based on an incomplete Mono implementation.
