Update: People downvoted me for pointing out that Donald himself deleted the tweets. Here's what Twitter actually said:
"...the account of @realDonaldTrump will be locked for 12 hours following the removal of these Tweets. If the Tweets are not removed, the account will remain locked."
Which means Trump deleted them, as I had described.
Either way, I deleted my longer explanation of why the messages appeared they way they did under his Twitter account because it's not worth venturing into negative karma over this. I explained why the deletions looked like they did, and Twitter's explanation suggests that was correct.
They're still in Twitter's database, or else Twitter is criminally negligent with their infrastructure. Trump's Twitter account is now evidence of complicity with sedition against the US, it needs to be frozen and backed up as evidence for law enforcement.
By law enforcement you mean congress so they can impeach a president leaving office in the next 2 weeks?
a sitting president cannot be charged with a crime, but congress can bring articles of impeachment under specific circumstances as outlined in the constitution.
the Constitution is silent on whether a president can face criminal prosecution in court, and the U.S. Supreme Court has not directly addressed the question.
Scroll up. I added to that comment with two of the deleted tweets, and in a subsequent tweet clarified what I was saying.
By all appearances, it is Trump that deleted the messages. And understandably, because they make him look like the instigator. If Twitter deleted them, the message would be different. And the link they give tells you what those messages would be.
It is easy to duplicate that message yourself. Make a tweet. Reply to your tweet. Delete the initial tweet. You are left with the same thing seen here.
I'm not disagreeing with you, just pointing out that it doesn't actually matter. Twitter and countless archivers, including news organizations, still have them.

People are saying Twitter deleted the posts. Twitter Safety clearly left it to him to delete them, and his account is locked for 12 hours after he did so.
Just pointing that out because the news keeps saying that Twitter deleted them, when Twitter themselves say that they gave him the choice of deleting them, or remaining locked out from making any more posts.
