So it seems that the natural human immune response to covid 19 (e.g. making polyclonal Ab) actually selects for mutant variants of the virus by only neutralizing a sub-set of the viral particles hmmm.

So giving plasma from a covid surviver is not a cure but rather a death sentence?


It's an interesting remark! We still don't know about long term "immune memory" from our body. Assuming it would behave like all other corona viruses, I think that plasma would not have long term consequences. Actually, NEJM published a study showing some fair improvement for patients who take plasma in early stage
