I used to have a desktop gadget that displayed the current radar image. It's broke too. It used to pull the layers from the NWS radar server but they've (NWS) stopped providing that data.

Oh they change formats and api so often, its a challenge to keep an app current and relevant. Used to try to sell a radar app, but gave up.
