I think the impact is the value of Intel MacBook Pros will be extremely high for a long time. Last I checked, most musicians don't replace their rig & buy new software because Apple disrupted their computing platform. Drivers for Firewire adapters, old sequencing software, maintaining access to old projects are all things Apple doesn't care about.
Anecdotal: I sold my 2011 MBP to a musician. Best machine I ever owned, but will never buy another Mac.
