It seems like the age of the mega-corp is back (after a fairly long hiatus from things like the Dutch and British East India companies, standard oil, etc.), with companies like Apple, MSFT, Amazon, Alphabet, etc. giving a wealthy nation state like Australia a run for its money, economically speaking.
Australia is much kinder to its users, I mean citizens. There are grocery stores where you can walk in and pay nothing to get food, and many social services that would be the envy of many "capitalist" nations' welfare systems, if it ever got talked about.
