IodéOS = LineageOS 17.1 and MicroG and adblocker (xda-developers.com)

I'm continously impressed by the effort put into custom ROMs for Android. If this was supported on my phone in the drawer, I'd try it out in a heartbeat. Does anybody have experience using an OS with MicroG on a daily basis? A whole bunch of banking, work and government provided apps are still only available on the play store

I use LineageOS with microG. https://lineage.microg.org

I can get some apps to work, but Signal is not one of them because of GSF. Langis is an alternative. And I see Signal in the screenshots for the ROM so this caught my eye. Apps that don't work for me typically are because of my device being rooted. In fact, because I simply installed the Huntington bank app on my device, the bank claimed my device was hacked. I had to change my accounts as they closed them immediately.

Yeah, signal is my preferred messenger app, so would be hard to go without. Might have to try this and see if they got it working. My countries Personal-ID-login app refused to open on rooted devices, and several apps for banking and public transportation relies on Google Play Services. There's a bit of way yet.

Everything but viewing the map in location sharing works in Signal (clean Lineage without MicroG or GSF).

I run Lineage without gapps or MicroG. Lots of apps throw a waning saying they don't work without GSF, but really they all do. Banking is fine. I run proprietary apps in an isolated Shelter work profile.
