Its not a development machine, but the Pinebook Pro has an all metal chassis and a great price point ($200).

Solid machine for most tasks.




Thank you for the tip, I could develop on a remote server just as well, and for that price I might simply buy and see. However, one of the things I love about Macbooks the most is the display - do you have experience with both?


Its a 1080p matte display. Good for information density, but not as high nits or as color accurate as a Macbook's screen.
