I'm hopeful for what silicon like RISC-V and languages like Rust/Zig mean for the future of OS research and development. I feel like things have been stagnant in that realm for far too long.
Example -- super excited for the M1 chip and what it means for the future of computing. Not super excited that I can't actually own it or run my own software on it without approval from Apple, who's software I'm trusting less and less these days.
