How is this "open-source" ?


They may be referring to this GitHub repository[0] and this page[1]?

The protocols used in this system can apparently integrate with protocols.io, a github for scientific protocols


Putting scientific data and research process behind paywalls and proprietary programs is in my opinion the opposite of what science needs. There are enough barriers in science as it is, no need to create more.

Even to download Functionalities Overview I need to leave my email address, name and my institution. That's a big NO-NO.

The product may be a great fit for industry, but not academia that's funded from public sources and should be as open as possible.


Check out SciNote, an open-source electronic lab notebook. Highly recommended for Life Science research labs, especially in these times.
