Nice essay. I think many of us grow up with idealistic notions of what our impact will be. We all grow up wanting to be the hero: improve the world by causing change on a massive scale. But true quality doesn’t scale. Lately, I’m finding that real change happens in small increments, small acts of kindness and compassion here and there in daily life. I think many folks see the power and sustainability in this approach. Ambition doesn’t ever truly go away, but what we are ambitious for may change with age and experience. We are all parts of a whole.
Thanks for the feedback! There are two problems which is the idealism, which causes people to try and if they fail, they might not try again. And the unwillingness to plant the seeds to grow the big trees. That's true, ambition doesn't go away but it changes that is why we need to take care of it like a garden. Thank you!
