Maybe I am nitpicking, but Silverlight runs on Windows and Mac, which is why MS claims it is cross-platform. The article indicated it is Windows only.

This came up when the first story like this was posted. Unconfirmed churn. Mono isn't dead. Only a smart of the team was let go in the restructuring.

Ideally Miguel de Icaza would clarify if this "rumor" is false but he's not saying anything (yet) and plenty of people are guessing.

Conversely, if the rumor is true and everyone was let go, you'd expect Miguel to have mentioned that. The man is a prolific tweeter.

Yeah, I'm waiting de Icaza's post in his blog about this. http://tirania.org/blog/

He is active on Twitter and lots of people talked to him and asked him exactly that question, but there is no response.

Perhaps he should move to Microsoft to run .NET now that Scott Guthrie moves on to Azure App Platform ;)

Bad idea =)... We need DeIcaza to rescue ECMA-334 and ECMA-335 outside Windows. Scott Hanselman might be a better choice since the guy is well-known open-source advocate.
