Somehow left out dolphins, who commonly gangrape females, or chimps who wage (admittedly not so technologically advanced) clan wars.

To the downvoter: "A notable example is bottlenose dolphins, where at times, a pod of bachelor males will 'corner' a female.[43] Furthermore, in a zoo where it is common practice to put newly captured dolphins in with dolphins who are established in their enclosures, other species of dolphin are never put in together with bottlenoses because the bottlenose dolphins frequently torment and rape them.[44]"

Sorry to say, but you've been duped.

I checked out the wikipedia article you linked to. Shocking reading, surely. But then I examined the two references to the dolphin 'rapes'...

The latter reference was this article: http://www.altx.com/io/zoo.html - see any mention of 'dolphin'? Me neither. I edited it out of the wikipedia article.

The former reference only went as far as this: 'although what happens once the males have herded in a female, and whether she goes for one or all of them, is not yet known: the researchers have yet to witness a dolphin copulation.'

This is not rape. Read the rest of the article. Fascinating, if only for the realization that we (humans) really don't understand the subtleties of being a dolphin. So, let's just say the issue is indeterminate.

Awww, that sours my view of dolphins! :(
