The server side doesn't seem to be free software, am I missing something?



It isn't no. In their telegram group they said they want to keep it closed for now to make it easier to monetize. Their argument is that all the relevant cryptography happens client-side.


It's similar to the Tarsnap model, except this uses GPL-licensed client apps so you can implement your own backend legally.
