I must confess I miss the 110 baud cadenced hum (and typing) of the ASR-33 teletypes. Wish I could have one.

If serious, I'm wondering if you were in the Canadian Armed Forces reserves when I was (early 80s). We were still using 33s. Remember the 'chadless' tapes? Good times. But dusty.

No. First time I met a 33 it was already quite obsolete. It was used as a terminal and paper tape drive for a CNC emulator that was used for teaching.
