Who leaves an open can of beer in the fridge? THIS is the real crime.

People literally can't have anything nice...sad

Similar to this art project made in a disused room in the Copenhagen Central Train Station: https://www.rapolitics.dk/produktioner-2/hip-hop-samlingen/s...

I’d be very curious to know what rules they actually broke.

Another article has this line:

"He initially admitted to being in the room with the electrical foreman while receiving overtime pay — but later recanted, according to Pokorny."

They created a fire hazard - if anything there had a fault or was miswired, maybe because of a hidden hazard, it could start a fire that could kill countless people.

They stole a Metro-North refrigerator. Just not cool.

Ostensibly they got them for slacking off on company time, which seems like a massive breach of trust for hourly union employees.

I’d argue that someone just decorated their office. It’s perfectly reasonable to talk business while watching TV. I do it all the time.

Not if you have a job that requires stringent safety requirements.

I fail to see how safety requirements and office mix. I also probably have a skewed view. I was in the military and the description in the article sounds remarkably like some “offices” in a war zone... assuming whomever was in charge had the resources in which to acquire a futon or couch, or some good poker skills.

Reminds me of work as an overnight security guard and the different rooms that would be commandeered for rest and relaxation. The job is down right hazardous because it's deadly boring so these worker s have my sympathies

You can actually see one of the inspectors in the photo with the networks. He looks precisely as I imagined.
