When he replied to the ad, the convicted sex offender prompted her about her age and she made it quite clear to him that she was indeed a 13 year old girl. That fact didn't discouraged him from trying to have sex with the underage girl, and he proceeded to try to meet the underage girl with the express goal of having sex with her in mind, which ultimately led to his arrest.
