...until it fails. I am a person who's perseverance towards my life goals caused depression, anxiety, and panic disorders. And almost my life.

I wanted to become a top scientist. Yet, the academic path is full of disillusionment (mainly with the system). Perseverance gave me the power to go through sacrifices one after another and to carry on. However, only after I let it go (and turning to data science / deep learning), I became much happier and emotionally stable. "Perseverance is good" is a dangerous survival bias fallacy.
