I like Shedlock and his blog, Mish's Global Economic Trend Analysis.

But his article relies on the info shared with the New York Times "The email, which was shared with The New York Times" and it would probably be better to use the original source: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/19/world/coronavirus-update-...

The article contradicts its own headline halfway through:

"Ms. Gilbert has worked at the Labor Department under presidents of both parties, and there has been no indication that she was urged by political appointees to make the request."

It proceeds to blame Trump anyway because: "Regardless of who made the decision, Trump is responsible for it."

There's a substantial difference in newsworthiness between "Trump asks states..." and "Nonpartisan Labor Dept official asks states..."

I guess this gets more clicks, though.

YES. I guess media thinks that more people will be susceptible to clickbait headlines when they're under in a "shelter in place".

Sadly, they may be correct. But it's also an indictment on the media nonetheless that they continue to write headlines stating conclusions the facts in their own articles right below the headlines don't support.

This. OP should be flagged. It's pure flamebait politics.
