Like the sentiment expressed in this [thread](https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=20189664) I'm seeking to leverage my technical skills to help scientific research.
[Sci-TEM](https://github.com/teul-io/sci-tem) is an effort to create a space to connect scientists/researchers with mathematicians, statisticians, programmers, and engineers who feel the same way. The MVP is a repository because GitHub provides many features up front without having to build a separate platform. I'm honestly not sure more is needed.
The pipeline mirrors any collaborative effort on GitHub:
* A scientist/researcher with a problem creates an issue detailing the help they need.
* Experts chime in, and the conversation can range from just the comment section to another repo, gist, or replit for live multi-person coding (the goal is to use outside resources with a GitHub login).
* When the problem is solved the issue is closed.
With some momentum a useful extension would be guides pulling from common issues, and tutorials either as a simple static site or entries in the repo's wiki.
I'd be grateful for any feedback on how to improve this effort, and spreading the word to people or labs looking for help.
