Such usage may exist, but it should be rare. In the words of Wikipedia, It is conventional to use the plus sign to only denote commutative operations.

For possible alternatives, Perl6 uses ~ for string concatenation (and prefix ~ for stringification). I like it.



Please note that Perl 6 has been renamed to Raku (https://raku.org using the #rakulang tag on social media). With regards to using ~ , nothing has changed :-)
