Soon I'm launching ngrid (http://ngrid.io) which is an IDE for music composition. It will interactively guide you through the composition process.

Are you targeting a specific genre or is this all around composition? After pro tools blew up with Catalina I’m fed up and am looking for a replacement daw.

I think that pro tools is more about mixing, ngrid is more about composition.

That sounds really interesting. I recently bought Live 10, so I'm an absolute beginner. Sounds like a great learning resource.

Ableton is more about sampling, the piano roll is terrible. Same with essentially all daws. I'm aiming for the fastest piano roll this side. Faster than FL Studio or anything else.

by what metric is it a "faster" piano roll?

I believe they mean faster to enter notes and edit with.

You are correct

Was really hoping from the title that Ableton had released an ML-based synthesis tool.. ah well.

Great intro to synthesis, helped me a lot
