I've seen this strategy before for iPhone apps, and I'm still not sure I completely understand it - for instance, RunKeeper Pro was free for the month of January. In your case, is it to push sales of the Gaia GPS?

The intent is, in the end, to increase sales of our paid app(s). We also do have a Gaia GPS Lite app, but we wanted to have a completely free, non-ad-supported, non-lite restricted app that lots of other companies are actually charging for.
