What Am I Missing?

I'd love to pressure test my formula for sales copy & behavior change. Tell me what I'm missing? Prove me wrong. Or just suggest a tweak. What successful startup doesn't abide by the majority of these rules? What behavior change happens in defiance of them?

HOW TO PERSUADE ANYONE TO DO ANYTHING (EVEN YOURSELF)

First of all forget this idea that they, (or you) are a rational, logical, human being making a conscious decision. Instead act as if you are dealing with an unconscious mind, whose primary goals are self preservation and consistency.

The more you can answer "yes" the more likely the solution will be adopted or purchased.

WHAT THE UNCONSCIOUS MIND IS "ASKING" BEFORE IT WILL PROCEED IN ANY NEW DIRECTION...

1. Will the solution solve the problem that is making me feel the most uncomfortable right now?

2. Will it solve that problem instantly?

3. Is the solution consistent with my existing values and beliefs? (Especially those relating to my sense of self.)

4. Is the outcome likely to be emotionally positive, based on my past experience of this type of thing? (Especially recent experience.)

5. Does the solution match the behavior of people I look up to, people whose lives I would like to live?

6. Will my peers approve?

7. Will the solution result in more control over my life? (Freedom, ability to move myself, & Power, ability to move other people and their resources.)

8. Will the solution create more certainty in my life? (The feeling that I can predict the future.)

9. Will the solution be so simple and enjoyable to adopt it will overcome my inertia? (The discomfort of change.)

10. Have these things been demonstrated? (Not just claimed.)
