He says he has used the card for a month and doesn’t go into any detail beyond the onboarding process.

I’ve also had mine since early August and can say that it works very well. I am fortunate to live in NYC where most places support Apple Pay, so I hardly use the physical card. The experience is seamless and the UI, of course, is very well done. It is particularly nice to have card’s UI right in the Wallet app, though I think Apple might extend the Wallet API to enable other credit cards to provide more detailed information there. It would make sense. Shout-out to whoever designed the bill payment flow; it is clear and promotes better financial health.

Another shout-out to whoever designed the transaction detail view. They’ve partnered with Yelp to provide information about merchants, and has been mentioned many times, seeing the location where the charge was made is a subtle yet helpful detail.

Ultimately, it isn’t the next top tier luxury card. It is clear that wasn’t Apple’s goal. However, I’ve been very happy to see other companies onboarding to their 3% cash back incentive (Walgreens and T-Mobile most recently). I think the benefits will continue to pile up.

They really upped the game with this one. I think the biggest detail in the OP is that they had access to millions of potential customers on (or before) launch day. Their ability to access their customers so directly will set this (and other forays by Apple) apart from the competition.

This review provides little useful, actionable, or insightful information. I was very surprised to see this make the front page.

Indeed, it just provides a few notes on the Apple Card's relatively seamless onboarding process and that's it.

Did you miss the second half of the thread? 1-11 are about onboarding and 12-24 are about using it.
