Twitter's search and count are misbehaving. Is this common?

I use Twitter to record links to useful things (software, papers, etc.). Recently I started searching for tweets of my own, since my tweet list has grown too large to browse. I was surprised to find out that the search function basically doesn't work.<p>E.g. I searched for my own tweets on VIM like so "from:maymounkov #vim" of which there are a few and quite recently in fact. No results.<p>This sort of thing makes me worry that I could not use Twitter as a handy store for links.<p>Another quirk that set-off my concerns: On Jan 3rd my tweet count was reported as 100. Today it is 182. Between then and now, I have posted half dozen tweets at best. You can verify this, because when I saw the count 99, I posted a tweet saying "Tweet the 100-th."<p>My twitter is @maymounkov.
