Ask HN: What Firefox add-ons do you use?

For web development or just general use, what add-ons are you using?

Firefox Multi-Account Containers: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/multi-account...

Temporary Containers: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/temporary-con...

I use Temporary Containers in full Auto Mode, with all new tabs and links opening in new container.

Behind the Overlay Revival: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/behind-the-ov...

Used for quick one-time removal of overlays.

uBlock Origin: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin...

On top of basic ad blocking, I use uBO to more permanently block certain overlays.

In-Page Pop-up Reporter: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/in-page-pop-u...

Part of a Mozilla experiment.

Referer Control: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/referercontro...

Default Referer set as Custom: [TARGET_HOST]

Well, on the machine I'm reading this on, I use:

404 Bookmarks Auto-Sort Bookmarks CoinJack Ecosia Greasemonkey HTTPS Everywhere IPFS Companion Javascript Toggle Pardus Bookkeeper/Sweetener Privacy Badger Tampermonkey uBlock Origin

But I don't do webdev on this machine. for that I have a bunch of other add-ons..

Any particular reason you're using both Greasemonkey and Tampermonkey?

Because I'm low on RAM on this box: Auto Tab Discard (and reduce worker processes in settings)

To leave somewhat less of a digital trail: uBlock Origin, Decentraleyes, Privacy Badger.

Absolute livesaver: Form History Control.

Nice tweaks: Tree Style Tab, Fix Twitter, Google Search Link Fix, Link Alert, Link Cleaner, Reload in Address Bar.

Product-specific stuff: LastPass, Enhanced Steam, Fanatical Assistant, Amazon Smile Redirect.

This isn't an addon, but I made a bookmark with the URL https://web.archive.org/web/submit?url=%s and the keyword "rez". (You can add keywords in the full Bookmarks window, Ctrl-Shift-B.) Now I can load any page in the Internet Archive by putting the word "rez" in front of it in the address bar!

I use uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger. uBlock Origin blocks the ads and Privacy Badger blocks invisible trackers.

I think I'm gonna drop Privacy Badger since the latest Firefox version includes Content Blocking https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/content-blocking.

Tab Counter - constant reminder I should close a couple of hundred tabs.
