Being 75 after a lifetime in an office job versus after a lifetime as a diner waitress are two very different things.


What's the difference? I can think of lots of advantages for both.


Physical labor is harder on the body and takes a toll. Retiring at 75 is unreasonable for them, they can’t continue to work like that into their late 60s


yeah the diner waitress probably made more in real dollars back in the 30s.
