This makes me embarrassed to be an American, not because of all the horrific externalities of natural gas, but because it’s just so tasteless.

“freedom gas” sounds like a Yankee Candle scent.


Meh, I laughed, and I'm sure the people who wrote "molecules of freedom" did too. And given that the natural gas boom is a big part of forthcoming American energy independence, calling it "freedom gas" is somewhat accurate.


It's a jokey bit of a statement. It's not that big of a deal.

And if you consider that buying "freedom molecules" over wahabbist molecules, you actually are voting with your dollars to some extent to give money to freedom and not despotism.

This will mean more expensive natural gas for North Americans.

Will the economic benefits trickle down to make up the difference?
