Celibacy makes no sense now nor in the time of the Bible. Some believe even Christ was married. Priests should be able to as well. They’re human beings. In any case the church needs to change its stance on priests and get those with harmful sexually deviant proclivities help and remove them from the clergy. As one with family members who have been abused my thoughts when I first heard of priests abusing children were to have the abusive priests lined up and shot. That’s so insane I know. I now believe they need help, the church needs to change, and needs to atone even more for allowing religious leaders to harm the most vulnerable.
