Ask HN: Why does Captcha suck so much for non chrome users?

Hi HN, I see everyone talk about the importance of having multiple platforms for browsing, instead of having one single monopoly (Chrome). But under what basis is Google making people do Captcha's just because they are a non chrome user? Is there a security reason? I have the exact same extensions for each browser, yet I clear the hurdle of Google's captcha system under chrome WAY less than on Firefox. I think cloudflare might have the same problem, especially when it comes to DDOS protection. Does it have anything to do with how google funds cloudflare?
