I happen to agree with you, but others might not. I'd rather the system just let the user decide, and that preference get propagated into the appropriate place.
But, every company wants their app be a glorified ad for the app I'm already using, and wants it to use their branding: their colors, their fonts, their precise level of rounded corners.
I just want to have a consistent UX that allows me to get shit done.
