I thought the author's comment that the most essential ingredient of capitalism is a salesperson. Most people in sales still say that today, but I believe innovation is what drives capitalism. When there's a possible reward, people are willing to take a risk. Innovation can create demand.
Maybe articles like this created the demand for companies like PayPal.
