I don’t get the premise of this. On the one hand he’s making the assertion that government regulation is needed because consumers won’t pay for added security.
He then immediately goes on to say that in the past security breaches weren’t life threatening but now they are because refrigerators and cars are connected to the network.
Okay so people won’t pay more for security when it’s not life threatening but this time the threats are different, but people still won’t pay more. How does he know this if the threats are different this time?
Tbh though he lost me when he advocated for government regulation as the fail safe solution.
