On HN wsj.com submissions, I’ve noticed that at least one person posts a free link to the article content to avoid the WSJ paywall, and it got me thinking about how much folks pay for their news media, if at all.
I have an annual Atlantic subscription (print) that is around $24 a year, and am I member of the Masthead ($100 a year). I listen to a lot of WNYC podcasts (On the Media, Radiolab), and have considered donating $7 a month, but haven’t yet. Besides that, the rest of my media consumption is ad supported.
My current monthly budget would therefore be around $10 a month, which doesn’t seem like much, but I’m not sure what others spend.
