While browsing Reddit on /r/LinuxMasterRace I noticed there was a user with the name "PM_ME_YOUR_CP" and I clicked the "Report" button and selected the reason "Is sexual or suggestive content involving minors" in an effort to error on the side of caution. The username is probably a "joke" but I figure I would let the Reddit admins be the judge of that.
I woke up to an inbox saying that my Reddit account has been temporarily banned due to issuing a false report.
What does Hacker News think? Reddit has removed usernames in the past because they contained hate speech like racial slurs, why do you think they are standing their ground here?
Also, I did the appeal process and Reddit has refused to comment or respond to any messages.
