I'd like to see a comparison of this electric-crane-block system with a system already being tested, 'rail storage', which uses electric locomotives to pull heavily loaded cars uphill.
I'd guess the cranes would be cheaper than locomotives and laying track.... and works on flat terrain (EG the midwest).
