Ask HN: What government contractors would you recommend for work?

From a software developer's perspective, as I'm a software developer seeking a full-time job. I have a part-time freelance job now, but it's very few weekly hours and I have a whole lot of trouble passing interviews and phone screens at all the corporations I've applied to, no matter their size and background. I believe my years of working remotely (since 2013) have all but wrecked my interpersonal communication skills.

So disclosing my situation to others, I've been told that government contractors are the best choice for me. They tell me that these companies are always hiring, even people who couldn't solve fizzbuzz, and just fill up the seats with warm bodies that can at least answer the most basic programming concept questions. What would be some of the best contractors to work for the public sector? Which provide some of the best experience for a programmer in terms of work-life balance and sense of direction in your job?
