You break up the big corporations and with many suppliers suddenly they need to fight it off in the free market. It will lower prices and despite the efficiency going down (because you have no economy of scale).
You may get a lot of people losing their job at first as the economy resettles which is why it's probably not the best time to do it. But generally I think it would be a good thing.
