> is an imperfect source of information, one which most college students are still forbidden from citing in their papers.

Is that honestly the measure of how perfect a source of information is?

No, and the quote from the article is a horrible meme that makes absolutely no sense.

Of course people can’t source Wikipedia, they are meant to source the SOURCE articles! That’s like the entire point.

You can't source encyclopedia brittanica either. Wikipedia isn't banned because it's a wiki, it's banned because it's an encyclopedia.

But apparently the people who write these articles have never actually been to school, so they think that wikipedia not being allowed as a source for college papers is somehow a significant indictment.

Everyone knows you just quote the source listed in the wikipedia article instead of the wikipedia article itself.

To me, they should use Wikipedia as an example of the necessity to use sources when teaching about bibliographies in school. The reason I trust wikipedia, is because it's properly referenced. And in some cases, if it's not, it'll even let me know.

Wikipedia is a fantastic tool to find direct sources.

Wonder if contemporary college/University professors accept Wikeaks as a valid source.
