Hello, I am trying to learn more about inter-bank transfers, both domestically and internationally. At a high level, I understand that most countries have their own monetary and banking system, and in the US we have the FedWire and CHIPS systems. I would like to understand the nuts and bolts of these interactions better though. And I know that Swift is used as a messaging protocol, but I am also lacking understanding on the complete picture and technical details.
Can anyone suggest any good stepping stone resources to create a foundation of knowledge to branch off of? I know just enough to know I don't know anything (Donald Rumsfeld anyone?), but not enough to know what to search for.
