I have been a software engineer for 10+ years however around 2012 I moved into a less hands on technical role (think technical program management) I want to get back into more hands on technical role and would like get the community's help to identify strategies to adopt to accomplish this. Also would be great to understand which technologies to focus on. For context - Back in the day I worked largely on middleware and backend - Java and various RDBMS was my bread and butter.
