What about today’s taxis, busses, trains, planes? I don’t see passengers pay attention to the road to prepare for driver initiated braking, lane change or speed adjustment. I would assume passengers not paying attention today in human driven vehicles will continue to not pay attention in autonomous vehicles because nothing changes (as long as these vehicles drive similar to human drivers).


Except it's not like today's taxis, busses, trains or planes. It's more like riding with a friend who's never crashed their car, but sometimes will tell you "I can't handle this right now, take the wheel." and you don't have a choice.
