I've always used a client inside my editor:

- vim: https://github.com/aquach/vim-http-client

- emacs: https://github.com/pashky/restclient.el

Seems to me it's hard to overcome the advantage of being able to immediately work with and edit response data. What are the major advantages of these standalone clients?
